Multiple interfaces per network interface controller (NIC)

- [Instructor] We have looked at how to assign an IP address to a network interface card, or NIC, but sometimes it's helpful to assign more than one address to a single physical network adapter if one server is responsible for multiple network streams, especially when they all use very little bandwidth or need a dedicated path into the server. For example, a web server that's hosting a single website doesn't make that server work very hard, and it doesn't use a lot of network pipe either. A web server that's running eight websites may be just starting to effectively use one network adapter, but each website might want to be identified with its own separate IP address. Adding IP addresses to a NIC is easily done using the netsh command, so let's switch back over to our Server here, and even though this server does have the Desktop Experience, we can still use command shells for administration.
