- One of the new features that we have the ability to create in our environments is a read-only domain controller. Any event that we were to have a small remote office where we may only have eight to 10, 12 users and we're not really, really, really confident with physical security at that location, we might want to put domain controller at that environment that can authenticate users but have a database on it that cannot be compromised from an outside influence. Hence the name read-only domain controller. So what we're gonna be looking at in this session is why we have read-only domain controllers, what are their purpose. We'll talk about what are the requirements to have read-only domain controller, what's the minimum operating system, what's required in our network configuration, what's required in Active Directory.
