Run Windows Nano Server in a container
- [Man] Windows Nano Server used to be its own operating system. You could download it and install it on a physical device, or inside of a virtual machine. Unfortunately, Microsoft discontinued Nano Server as its own stand-alone OS, but you can still download Nano Server and run it as a container. You'll find it over on the docker hub, if you go to hub.docker.com, and type in nano server. It's the very first option that comes up here. You see it as a verified publisher, there is also a inside edition, if you want the latest and greatest, but the generally available stable edition is this edition right here, and you can download it here with this command, docker pull mcr.microsoft.com/windows/nano server. There's also additional information down here, if you would like to learn exactly how to use and configure Nano Server.
