- [Narrator] A storage replica was one way to make sure that your file shares remain as available as possible, and it's all about disaster recovery. And that's important, especially with user file stores where tons of files are being created. Lots of files and lots of directories constantly being updated and changed, mostly small files but several of them, and these files mostly change when the user closes the file. But let's take a look at a different data need. Applications like data-based servers or virtualization servers don't create and delete a lot of files. They use a very small number of generally quite large files that are always open and constantly being modified while they're open. What's important for these applications is finding the fastest and most reliable way to access and maintain these large files.
