- [Instructor] Now, this next thing I want to talk to you about, as much as it does relate to environmentals and safety, and things like that, it also has to do a little bit with data security and that has to do with secure storage disposal, right? So what do we do when we are actually disposing of equipment that we no longer need? Let's talk about data itself, all right? If we want to go ahead and get the data off of our drives, off of our systems before we dispose of it, there are some options. The first is just what's known as a simple soft wipe, or just a basic deletion, all right? It's the idea of you just take files that you don't need and you say, "Delete." And no, I'm not talking about just going to the recycle bin. You even empty it from the recycle bin. Heck, you might even format the hard drive, but you have to understand that just a regular soft wipe, even though the data is said to not be there anymore, it is…
