- [Instructor] We have looked at ways to manage a hard drive, once it's been installed and recognized by Windows. But we haven't yet talked about installing the actual disk. If we were only dealing with dedicated hardware, that would be because this is not a course on hardware maintenance, and we would assume that the hard disk is installed in the server before we do these tasks. This is a course on Windows server 2016. It's all about the Cloud, it's all about virtual machines. So I'm going to go through the process of creating and mounting virtual hard drives into our virtual servers. We'll take a look at doing this in two different ways. The first is in Hyper-V. So I'm going to shut down this server, and we'll be looking at the Hyper-V manager, on the host machine. Now I chose to shut the machine down, because the first process that I'm going to show, is the equivalent of installing a new physical disk directly into the machine.
