- So you might be wondering a little bit about virtualization. Why it's such an important topic, why it's so critical for IT today and why Server 2012 would focus so heavily on it. And to really get into the meat of the technology, to see how it works and why it's important and what it does. It's first important I think to take a step back and look at it with the big picture.
