Why run containers in Windows?

- [Instructor] There are hundred of thousands of Windows applications available that you can install on your Windows Servers today. Those applications are written in many different languages and they come in many different packaging formats. What they all have in common is that they have dependencies, such as the Windows system libraries and other applications. And that creates many different problems around security, portability of those applications and application consistency as you try to run the same application across multiple hosts. What developers and administrators have discovered is that there's a better way to run applications that prevent these challenges, and that is to use Windows containers. Now why should you run containers in Windows? Well, containers provide you application portability.
