- [Instructor] Whether you're an administrator or a developer, when you think about containers, you might associate those with the Linux operating system. However, you'll be happy to know that Docker, the company that revolutionalized containers and made containers easy and cool in Linux, got together with Microsoft a few years back, and they formed a commercial partnership. So that's a huge thing. This isn't the community edition. This is the commercial edition of Docker, and it was made available as of 2016 to Windows Server at no additional cost. This partnership also includes the joint promotion of the Docker Datacenter solution, as well as a joint push to containerize legacy applications, and specifically, Microsoft Windows based applications. Things like the Windows operating system, IIS, Microsoft SQL Server, and much more. In fact, if you go to the Docker hub, which is hub.docker.com, and you type in Microsoft, you'll find there are now over 1100 results here in the Docker…
