Additional functionality

- In addition to the core deployment services offered by Windows Autopilot, there is seven other features and additional functionality that you should know. Autopilot offers two types of deployment. User-driven and self-deploying mode. Self-deploying mode can be used for deploying Windows 10 to kiosk devices. Settings for self-deploy mode can lock down a device to restrict it to display a specific kiosk app. The self-deploy mode can also be used to set up digital signage, offer computers with shared use. A prerequisite for this type of deployment is that devices are required to have a TPM 2.0 chip. If you use Windows Autopilot personalization features, you'll assign a username to a specific device. If username is then used to pre-fill user details during the set-up process. A friendly name can also be included, so that users will be greeted by that name when they first switch on their device.
