Administering BitLocker

- [Instructor] In this section, I'd like to look at using BitLocker to encrypt entire hard drives in Windows 10. So off the Start Menu, I'll just type in BitLocker and that'll give me the option for the control panel Manage BitLocker. I'll click on that. And the first thing we see is my C drive, which does not support BitLocker. So if I click on the item to turn on BitLocker, I will receive an error saying this device can't use a trusted platform module. Trusted platform module or TPM is a technology that allows us to store the encryption key someplace other than the drive that is being encrypted, and storing the encryption key separately increases the overall security. So I'll hit cancel here and I'll open up the details of my E drive, which does support TPM. So I should be able to enable BitLocker by clicking turn on BitLocker. First thing it'll ask me if I want to use a password or a smart card, I'm going to go with password and then type in the same password twice, click next. And…
