- [Teacher] Once you've tried all of the basic troubleshooting tools to resolve a remote connection issue, nothing has worked, you'll need to look at some advanced settings. Likewise, if you're troubleshooting a connection that uses the internet versus one that's on your local network, there may be additional configuration options there as well. One advanced item to look at is the setting for Network Level Authentication. You can find that in Remote Desktop settings. Just search for Allow Remote Connections, click the option in system settings to open the Settings Window, then scroll down. Look for this setting, "Change settings to allow connections "only from computers running Remote Desktop "with Network Level Authentication," and click Show Settings. If you're trying to connect remotely to a PC on your home network from outside that network, don't select this option.
