Configure advanced profile sharing options
- [Instructor] Each time you connect to a network a specific network profile is applied. It's either private, public, or domain. Each profile has its own default configuration settings available to view and change in the Network and Sharing Center. One way to open this is to type Manage Advanced Sharing Settings in the search window on the task bar. And click it in the results. To see the settings associated with a private network profile, expand Private if applicable. Here you can see that both network discovery and file and print sharing are enabled. These are the default settings. You can make changes if you like. You may want to leave your computer discoverable, but disable access to local printers, shared files, and other resources for instance. Now expand Guest or Public. You can see here that discovery and file and print sharing are turned off. There might be instances where you want to make a change to these settings as well.
