- You can connect to a Windows computer remotely from another computer or laptop using either the built-in Remote Desktop Connection client, or the Remote Desktop app both shown here. Your clients might not always be able to connect using a computer though, they might need to connect using a cell phone or a tablet. If that's the case, they'll need to obtain the applicable application and configure it first. To obtain the app for an iPhone or iPad, search for Remote Desktop Mobile from Apple's App Store. Make a note of the red and white icon here. That's what you're looking for. You want to make sure to get Microsoft's Remote Desktop app and not a third party one. For Android devices, go to the Google Play Store. I've done that, and this is the app you need. Again, notice the red and white logo that Microsoft uses to distinguish it from third party applications.
