Demo: Managing device health

- [Instructor] Let's drop onto our demo environment and take a look at the device health information available within Microsoft Intune. On the left hand side, I'll click Devices and then under Monitor, I'll select Device actions. Here we can see the status of any device actions that we've implemented on our *. We can filter the information by action and also by status. If I select Audit logs, we can view all the changes that have taken place in our Intune *. I can select Columns and refine the information. I can filter. And drill down into individual actions. I can also export information to a CSV file which I can then open in Excel. For more detailed information, I'll need to use the Desktop Analytics or the Log Analytics in Azure Active Directory. I've opened my Microsoft Azure Dashboard and here we can see I have Device Health, *, and Update Compliance configured. This information is pulled into our Log Analytics workspace and receives information from our Windows 10 devices. If I select the DeviceHealth solution, and then select the Device Health Settings, we can view the Commercial ID for this workspace. My Windows 10 PCs need to know this Commercial ID key to be able to register the telemetry data from the device to the correct Log Analytics workspace. Let's see how. I'll open Intune, select Device configuration, Profiles, and here we can see I have two custom profiles configured. The first is to set the Commercial ID. I'll select Properties, open the settings, and here you can view the custom settings using the same Commercial ID key we saw earlier. The second setting will set the Windows telemetry. Again, let's look at the Properties, I'll open the settings, and here you can see the value is set to two, which allows our Windows 10 devices to report the telemetry details to the Log Analytics workspace. These profiles have been successfully assigned to devices. We'll now return to the Dashboard and open my Device Health, we can see the information reported from our devices. This includes Device Reliability, Application Reliability, Windows Information Protection information, and Login Health, and for each area, we can drill down and see more information. When you first configure your Log Analytics workspaces, it may take up to 72 hours before your Windows 10 devices start to generate telemetry that can be reported upon. If you're unable to create a demonstration environment in this way, you can use a demonstration environment that has been created already in Azure Log Analytics. Here, you can run sample queries on a vast number of devices in the database. I'll select Computer performance, Memory and CPU usage, and run the report.
