- [Instructor] Because of the rapid change cadence and updating requirement that's imposed to Windows 10 Microsoft recommends that businesses should adopt a deployment ring methodology to update the devices that they manage. Updating Windows 10 on a frequent basis is likely to cause disruption to traditional management techniques. But it's been proven that the only viable way to keep the operating system patched and up to date is to use a frequent update process. By adopting deployment rings you can stagger the updates into different waves or groups, thereby ensuring that the update deployment is controlled and managed, and likely to cause the least disruption if something goes wrong. Microsoft themselves use a deployment ring methodology to deploy Windows 10 to their tens of thousands of staff. To help visualize the deployment rings I've drawn an image onscreen.
