Make a remote connection

- [Facilitator] Are you ready to make a connection to remote computer? Let's double check that everything is ready first. First, make sure the remote computer is turned on. And if you're on a local network, verify you can see that computer and File Explorer under Network. My Local Network has two computers on it. This laptop that I'm using now and the Office PC that I have upstairs. On the remote computer, verify it's ready to accept remote connections. You can do that by searching from the taskbar, for Allow remote connections to this computer. If you'll scroll down, you can see here that mine is already set, but I can go ahead and show settings and I can see Allow remote connections to this computer is enabled. Also, on a remote computer on a Local Network, make sure you know that computer's IP address. It's best to have both the name and IP address handy because sometimes a connection fails with the name alone. To find an IP address at the remote computer, type CMD, open a Command…
