Managing device IDs

- [Instructor] The Windows Autopilot deployment process has three main steps. Devices are purchased from a vendor. Administrators pre-configure device settings. And then when an end user receives their new device, they connect the device to the Internet, their credentials will be verified, and the device will then be automatically provisioned. We'll now look at the second step of the Windows Autopilot process. This setup phase involves Administrators using device hardware IDs. A device hardware ID is an identifier for a device, the hardware ID is a string of letters and numbers, which can be used to uniquely identify each individual device. There are different ways to discover the ID of a device. Your vendor can supply a list of device hardware IDs for any new devices purchased. They should be sent to you as a CSV formatted file.
