Organize items on the desktop
- Let's look at how you can store files directly on the desktop and how you can get things cleaned up when you have too much stuff on the desktop. In some ways, the desktop is just an extension of file explorer. When you go to file explorer, you can go to the desktop folder, which is one of the standard folders inside of your home folder or you can just use the shortcut on the sidebar on the left to go to the desktop folder. And this folder shows the same stuff that's sitting out on the desktop, except for the recycle bin. That's the one thing that we see on the desktop that does not show up here in this folder. And right now on my computer, this folder is empty. Now, of course, you could save something directly on the desktop, or you can grab a file or folder from some other location on your drive and move it to the desktop. And that's what I want to do.
