Overview of mobile device management
- [Instructor] We need to consider how our business manage the Windows 10 PCs and also our mobile devices that our employees use. In a traditional business, we would use a on premises Windows server running Active Directory and for larger organizations, we'd manage the devices using System Center Configuration Manager and group policy. In a modern, cloud enabled organization, we achieve this management by using tools that support mobile device management, or MDM, such as Microsoft 365, Azure Active Directory, and Microsoft Intune and rather than use group policy, we manage devices through the use of MDM policies. Microsoft Intune has grown significantly in functionality and offers device management support for mobiles, tablets, laptops, and PCs from most of the popular vendors. These devices can be for both corporate owned mobile devices and employee owned devices, which are used to access corporate information.
