Overview of the settings interface

- [Instructor] In this section, we're going to talk about settings in Windows 10. So off the Start Menu, I'll click on the gear icon and that will take me to Windows Settings. In here I can administer a wide variety of items dealing with the configuration of my PC. Although the interface is different, the functionality is very similar to control panels. Remember we had control panels and Windows 7 and Windows 8. And actually those control panels still exist in Windows 10. Here in the search box, if I type in control panel, I will be given an option to go to Control Panels, and that will take me to something that looks almost just like Windows 7 and Windows 8. But in Windows 10, we prefer to use the Settings area. It has a few additional features and according to Microsoft is easier to use. So each of these top level items, if I click on one, for example, System, it'll take me to an interface that provides more detail.
