- [Instructor] Let's take a look at the basics of receiving and reading email. In a previous movie, we learned about the path that email follows to get from the sender's computer to the recipient's. Now, once an email arrives on your computer, depending on the email client you're using, there are usually a couple of options available for reading and managing your messages. For this example, I'm using the Windows Mail program, which again comes installed on Windows 10. But pretty much everything I'm going to show you here applies to other email clients as well. So first of all, when a new email client arrives, it ends up in your inbox by default. You'll usually see some notification of how many new messages you have. So you can see in this case, I have seven new messages here in my Gmail account. And here in the case of Windows Mail, unread messages also have this blue bar next to them.
