Restore with file history
- [Narrator] Windows 10 comes with a back up program called File History. File History scans your personal folders every hour, and copies changes to a back up drive. In order to configure the available settings in File History, we first need to set it up. Although there are options in settings, you'll get a lot further in control panel. I'll type control panel on the task bar, and show you how to locate File History. Change the view from category or small icons to large icons. Click File History. What you see here depends on many factors, including whether or not you've ever used File History. Whatever you see, click select drive. We need to tell File History where to save your backups. You can set up File History to back up to an external drive, a virtual drive, or a network drive. Choose the one that's right for you. I'll choose a USB drive called Recovery H.
