- [Instructor] The Semi-Annual Channel for Windows offers feature updates twice a year, in the fall and spring. These updates are used to roll out new features to Windows on a regular and predictable schedule. This makes it easier for users to acclimate to feature changes and as time passes get used to expecting and working with new features as part of using Windows. This open and continual updating process also puts an end to major releases of Windows, making it easier for IT administrators to keep their Windows clients up to date and feature rich. Microsoft intends for organizations and enterprises to take these twice yearly builds and plan, prepare, and pilot them to select groups within their organization very soon after they're released. This is often referred to as a targeted deployment. Once tested in house, Microsoft then expects enterprises to deploy the updates broadly across the organization with the loop repeating continually.
