- [Instructor] So the concept of subscription-based control libraries has been around for quite a while. In fact, it really picked up a lot of steam in the Visual Basic days. Companies like Sheridan for example that eventually morphed into new companies had a lot of third party UI-based drag and drop controls. This is still true today especially with Universal Windows Platform. There's a large number of popular third party controls available and most of them are based on annual subscription models which means you pay for an annual subscription, you get all the controls in that control set during that subscription. If the subscription ends, you just have the controls that you've had available. If you want to continue to get new controls or additional functionality, you continue on with the subscription model. Some of the more popular ones are Syncfusion, DevExpress, and Telerik. And the important thing here is that these control libraries are all custom controls that have been created…
