Troubleshoot IP and gateway addresses

- [Instructor] Resolving connection issues, especially if you've made the connection before, are often fairly straightforward. Sometimes a computer isn't turned on or connected to the network. Other times, it's the VPN or problems with the username and password. However, there will be occasions when basic troubleshooting won't work to resolve a remote connection problem. When this happens on a local network, especially if the problem is an intermittent one, look at the IP addresses for both computers. Then you can use the ping command to verify that each can connect with the other. To find the IP address of any computer, open a command prompt and type ipconfig. And press Enter. The IP address of my local PC is 192.168.1.104. And the gateway is 192.168.1.1. I'm going to make a note of that and then I'm going to go to the remote PC on the local network that I'm having trouble connecting to.
