- [Instructor] With Windows 10, Microsoft is releasing updates at least once a year, sometimes twice a year. If you'd like to get the information on the latest Windows 10 update, the best way to do that is to open up a web browser, go to a search engine and search for Windows 10 latest version. And then one of the links that comes up is Windows 10 release information, I'm going to click on that. And if we scroll down, we'll see that the latest version is version 2004. It was initially released in May and then finalized in August. And that is the version I'll be using when recording this course. So if you are also using version 2004, your interface should look very similar to mine. If you're using a previous version or a later version, your interface may look a little different. Most of the functionality we're going to talk about in this course has not changed significantly in these releases and is unlikely to change significantly in future releases, but there's always a chance something will change in the future. So, how do I check to see what version I have? I'm going to close this and off the start menu, I'm going to go to, it's usually the item right above power, it looks like a gear icon, and it's called settings. That'll bring up the main settings interface, in there, I'm going to click on system and in the system area, in the left-hand side, I'll scroll all the way down to the bottom, click on about, and that brings up lots of information about my PC, including if I scroll down, I see that I have version 2004 which is in fact, the most recent version. In this case, 2004 is not the year it was released and it's a little confusing 'cause with some other products, Microsoft names them by the year they were released. However, that is not the case when we talk about Windows 10 versions, that number there has nothing to do with the year it was released. So version 2004 is the latest version and the version I will be using throughout this course.
