- [Instructor] We have many security options for our wireless access point in a home network, as well as in an enterprise. We go down to our five gigahertz settings, I'm going to click edit and put in the username and password to log in. And I want to make sure under security mode that I choose WPA2-PSK for most home deployments. So why do we not want to choose the other options? Well, disabled of course makes it so there is no security and anyone can just connect to this access point as well as the local area network. So disabled is really not the way to go. WEP or Wired Equivalency Protocol has been cracked a very long time ago, and it's very easy to just use a product like AirSnort to sniff out what the key is and connect to it. WPA was a better type of security than WEP was, however, they had to make it backwards compatible because not many devices were using WPA, and they ended up making the security just as bad as…
