- [Instructor] In e-commerce, there's a few basic ways to charge for shipping. Free shipping, where the amount paid is free. Flat rate shipping, where someone pays a certain amount per order or per item. Live rates, where the software gets an estimate from a shipping provider like FedEx or USPS. And a table of rates. That's where there's a table of data and the software calculates how much shipping costs based on this table. Just about every platform can handle the first three of these very easily, free, flat rate, and live rates. But, if you want to have a more complicated table of rates, then you need to make sure that that's available in your platform. A good example of a table of rates is when you're shipping products in bulk and you know how many products can fit in a container either based on a number of products or the weight of the products. So for example, you might have a table of rates that says one to 99 products costs $100, 100 to 199 products costs $150, and 200 to 299…
