- [Instructor] In most cases, ecommerce platforms will import tax rates for you. Both WooCommerce and Shopify do this, and Shopify does an even better job by updating their taxes automatically. Unfortunately, with these systems, you have to double-check the rates and make sure they're being applied correctly. And that can time time or experience you might not have. If my client can afford it, I'm a huge fan of recommending third-party services that specialize in taxes. TaxJar is one of my favorites. They have a ton of information about local tax laws. You can type in any state and they'll have pages of information about how that state collects taxes and what sort of taxes are applicable in your area. There's also Avalara, which integrates with a number of platforms including BigCommerce. Some services take us even farther.
