- [Instructor] Lots of ecommerce platforms have built-in analytics and this is a nice feature, however, you never want to rely on one platform. If you use one platform for a few years and you upgrade to a different platform, you want to move your data with you. That's why I almost never use the platforms' built-in analytics and reporting as a feature when I'm evaluating platforms. They're convenient but they shouldn't be a selling point. The most popular reporting platform is Google Analytics. Most platforms integrate directly with Google Analytics so you rarely need to do more other than click a few buttons or copy or google Analytics UA code into your platform. Since Google Analytics is so useful at so many things, I always set this up even if the client doesn't request it.
