Apply date formats in Word
- [Instructor] Let me also show you quickly how to format dates. I had a nice format for my dates back in Excel. It said 12th April 2019 and I'd like to do the same thing here. So I'm going to right click and choose the edit this field. Notice I don't even have to reveal the field codes before I do this. It will take me to the right place. Let's drop into field codes and let's add some switches. So rather than using a pound sign, a date is treated mostly as text by Word so I'll use the symbol for text which is the at sign or shifted two and then we'll have another space and I'm going to enter dd in lowercase dash capital M M M M. Two Ms and it will give me the month number. Three Ms and it will give me the abbreviation for the month. Four and it will spell it out. And then a four digit year. If I wanted a two digit year, I would put in two Ys. So the entire switch is \@ dd-MMMM-yyyy. Click okay and notice 12…
