Create an index with an index file
- [Instructor] This is the other way that you can mark up your document so that you're ready to compile an index. In this case, we want to begin with the document that is the listing of the terms that you want to include in the index, and it looks like this. This document which is called IndexTerms.docx has two columns, no headings at the top. This is a very simple format. In the first column, is the term that you want Microsoft Word to find. And in the second column, is the term that you want it to associate that within the index. So, for example, if it finds non-discrimination, then the term it should use is non-discrimination. The trick here is that it's only going to find non-discrimination beginning with a lowercase n. So, I might also need to include non-discrimination with an uppercase n in case it starts a sentence. The same thing is true for every other term. For example, if I have employee as one of my choices, then employee it is, but what if the term instead is employees…
