- [Instructor] Creating tables by inserting tables and converting text into a table are two functions that you may be asked to demonstrate your knowledge of on the Word 2016 MOS exam. In this video we'll also look at how to convert a table back to text, and how to use the quick tables that are available to you in Word 2016. I have the 04_01 exercise file open, so let's create some tables. First, let's go ahead and start off with converting text to a table. Right here on page one I have this group of text. I'm going to turn on my show/hide formatting characters so that we can see how it's separated. I'll go to home and choose show/hide, and I can now see that all of this information is separated with tabs. Now sometimes your text can be separated with commas, asterisks, any kind of symbol actually. Generally, though, it may be separated with tabs. That's the most common. So to convert this to a table I'm going to select the text, go to insert, table, and here's the option I'm looking…
