Draw a table from scratch

- [David] When working with tables here in Microsoft Word sometimes it's easier to simply draw the table you want to work with if it's going to be somewhat complex, in other words, split columns and rows, things turned on their side. So in this week's work tip we're gonna look at how to draw a table. That means drawing the outline for your table and the lines on the inside to get exactly what you need as opposed to selecting a number of rows and columns and making the adjustments after the fact. So the first thing you need is a new blank document, a blank page. I'm zoomed out to 70%, that way I can see more of my page. And the other thing you might want to ensure is that the rulers are appearing across the top and down the left. You can do that by going to the view tab and making sure ruler is checked off. Now we're ready to draw our table, and we can make adjustments after the fact, and we will. But let's start by going to the insert tab. Here we see the table button. It has a…
