- [Instructor] We now know that as soon as you create a new document, Word is tracking the metadata or the personal information such as who created the document, who last edited the document, when it was saved, and if and when the document was last printed. If you're sharing your document with others, you will want to run it through the Inspect setting, and what this does is it looks through the document to see, do you have any comments in there? And if you have comments in there, do you want to remove them before you share the document? Do you have any hidden text? How about watermarks? Maybe you had a watermark on your document that said first draft, but now it's the final draft, you want to share the document, you want to make sure that you don't forget to take that watermark out of there, and last but not least, you probably want to remove all the personal information. People might not need to know who created the document, who edited it, and just how long you spent editing that…
