- Another big part of creating our visual style was utilizing concept sketches. Concept sketches help the production have a unified and clearer idea of concept, and serve as a template for other artists to use. So I hired Brad Singley, a buddy of mind that's just a masterful artist and UX designer. I hired him to create The Assurance design and Goh Hoten the Demon For The Assurance, I knew I wanted a girl standing at the edge of a tall plateau with her arm raised. I also knew that I wanted something crude and iconic, as it would need to be something non-artistic people could draw. Drawing The Assurance was almost like a form of worship, so it didn't need to look polished. It shouldn't look polished. Case in point, this is the awful, primitive drawing that I gave to Brad as a reference. The first iteration that Brad drew was a little too beautiful and elegant.
