Preparing for makeup

- Makeup is an important part of most film sets. Usually, you might have a little pancake makeup that eliminates the shine that comes from greasy skin. This is usually applied throughout the day, as needed. It's also very common to have beauty makeup and many actresses expect you to provide this for them, so that they look their best on camera. For The Assurance, we actually didn't do either of these things, but still used makeup in a couple of other ways. The first was on set with all the extras for the counsel scene and the common area scene. We wanted our extras to have a haggared and dirty look, so we used makeup to create a more rough appearance on them. Now, I think we might've gone a little overboard with this, but at the same time, it might not have been all that visible if we went much lighter.
