- The track changes feature here in Microsoft Word can come in very handy when you want to keep track of the edits you're making to a document. You can add comments if you're sharing with others, but there will be times when you want that to go away. For example, if you're going to be printing or maybe sharing the finished product with people, you don't want to include those track changes and comments. Well, in this week's work tip, we're going to look at a way to ensure that never happens by accident by providing a warning and then show you how to remove it before you send out what's known as a clean copy. We're going to work with this document Tech Connect 096 if you have the exercise files. Right now it looks like a clean copy and if I were to send this off I may not realize there are a number of comments in track changes attached to this known as metadata.
