- [Instructor] There are two specific customizations that we're going to make to our Microsoft Word environment that'll make it easier for us to develop and work with macros. The first is to display the developer tab of the ribbon, which will appear right in here to the right of the view tab. If you don't have it, simply right click in the ribbon or on the tabs. Choose customize the ribbon and in the right hand side on the list of main tabs, put a check mark for developer and click OK. Here now is our developer tab that has commands for macros. Not just macros and record macros and pause macro, all of which are also available on the view tab, but also visual, basic, and macro security, and farther to the right, add ins. So, other commands that we'll be working with. To make it wicked easy to turn macro recording on and to stop it we have a command that we can actually add to the status bar.
