- [Instructor] There isn't much that you need to be successful in this course. First, you need Microsoft Word, and that's Word for the desktop running in Windows. This is not a course for Word for the Mac, although you could pick up some tips that would help you there, and it is not a course for Word Online. This is a Word 2016 for Windows desktop course. And I'm assuming you have some knowledge and skills in Word 2016. You need to be able to enter and edit text, format text, and be able to also format documents. Everything we do here builds on that foundation, so if you don't have experience with Word 2016, if you're coming, for example, from Word for the Mac or a much older version of Microsoft Word, I would encourage you to start with Word 2016 Essential Training so that you'll grab these basics and know that you're up to speed. And when you're done then, you can return here and jump into this long documents course with a great deal of confidence. However, if you already have Microsoft Word 2016 and some skills and experience in Word, we are ready to continue.
