- [Instructor] One of the main benefits of hosting WordPress locally on your computer using Local by Flywheel or a different application, is you get direct access to the files and the database, and any changes you make will take immediate effect in your browser, without having to upload or download files to and from a server. Which begs the question, where are the files, and how can I edit the database directly? We've touched on this briefly earlier in the course and now it's time to take a closer look. To get at the files and the database for a specific site, select the site in your Local Sites list. And then go over to the admin panel. And from here, you gain direct access to the location of the files, the root location, by clicking on this link directly under the site name. This opens a file explorer to the folder that holds the entire container. And this is important. Because if you go into the folder, so in my case, my fonts.
