- [Instructor] There's some important things to remember when you go about choosing a backup tool, as well as when you go ahead and set up your backups. Make sure that when you're taking a WordPress website backup it includes the files and the database. Sometimes you'll see the option to back up one or the other. It's always a good idea to take backups of both since the files or the database could be compromised. It would be pretty awful to have database backups only where the issue happened in a file. If you use any form of malware scanning, make sure that it can scan your backups as well. If malware takes your site down you need to know exactly when it was added so that you don't restore a backup that was also infected. Some hosting providers will offer you free server backups.
