Create better content
- [Joe] WordPress is a content management system that drives millions of websites, from blogs to E-commerce stores that process thousands of transactions per a day. By some estimates, it powers over 30% of the web. But out of the box, WordPress is pretty bare bones. To create custom content and site functionality, you'll need a little extra. Custom post types and taxonomies allow you to create your own content, which can better be organized and provide more useful data to search engines like Google. I'll show you how to extend WordPress by creating your own custom post types for content, and custom taxonomies for organizing that content. Then, we'll create a child theme to better display that new content. We'll also learn how to do a lot of this without code. Hi, I'm Joe Casabona, a front end web developer and WordPress educator. So join me in my LinkedIn Learning course about WordPress: Custom Post Types and Taxonomies.
