Genesis and AMP

- [Instructor] In this lesson, I'd like to tell you about some capabilities Genesis has when it comes to Google AMP, a web framework designed to improve site load time for mobile sites. As of version 3.0, Genesis now natively supports AMP if you have the WordPress AMP plugin installed. AMP can play into your SEO strategy considering that speed is a ranking factor with Google. Part of the speed reduction is accomplished because AMP pages don't use any JavaScript. If you've done much responsive web development, you'd know that many responsive navigation menus rely on JavaScript. With the Genesis AMP integration, Genesis gives you a single function you can use to register a responsive menu that doesn't require JavaScript. If AMP is right for your website, you can learn the specifics about implementation over on the Genesis Developer Docs.
