- [Instructor] Now let's shift the conversation to talk about WordPress themes. Like plug-ins, there are free and premium ones available, both available through the repository and third parties. Unlike plug-ins, I would personally say that it's a better idea to pay for a premium theme rather than find a free one in the repo. There are definitely exceptions to this, like the WordPress default themes, but paid themes often offer much better features and better support. Themes don't just add some specific functionality or set of functionalities like plug-ins do, but they affect how your site looks overall. If plug-ins are apps on your phone, think of your theme as your wallpapers or widgets. My recommendations for choosing themes are very similar, almost identical, to choosing plug-ins. Only ever download from the repository or from well-known and highly-vetted companies, like Elegant Themes, WooThemes, or TemplateMonster.…
