How firewalls make your site more secure
- [Instructor] When preparing to launch your WordPress website look at firewall options. You can go with third-party tools or firewall options provided by your host. A firewall is a digital layer of protection that filters out threats it can find based on specific rules. It protects the server and the WordPress installation. Think of a bouncer outside a party with a list. They know not to let anyone in who doesn't meet the set criteria or who appears on the list. When someone tries to access your website, a firewall will evaluate them based on what it knows about existing security threats and then determines whether or not to deny or approve access. Firewalls can do wonders to protect your site against a brute force attack.
