- [Instructor] Preventing spam altogether is going to be your best bet but you can also use a plugin to consistently review comments and then screen out and remove the spammy ones automatically. I highly recommend Akismet, which is a fantastic and highly-rated plugin that does exactly this. Once installed, you should see a screen looking somewhat like this. Select Set up your Akismet account. You'll be redirected to the Akismet site. Click on the same button again. Use the personal option and pay what you can if this is a personal website. If you have ads on your site, promote a business or sell products and services through the site, you'll need to invest in a higher plan option. Add your email address and select the appropriate settings for your site. Verify the account with the confirmation code sent to your email address.
