- [Instructor] I know I've been dogging on widget-based homepages a bit, but I do still want to take time to cover working with widgets in Genesis as you'll still likely encounter them even if you're not using them for a homepage. Most Genesis child themes will include at least a couple of widget areas. By the way, you might also hear a widget area referred to as a sidebar. To see and configure the available widget areas for your theme, go to appearance widgets from your WordPress Admin. And depending on which child theme you're using, your widget areas may look different from what you're seeing here. But three very common ones in Genesis are the primary sidebar, a footer, and an after entry. If you're using a layout that includes a sidebar, that's where widgets will display that you add to this primary sidebar widget area.
