- [Instructor] WordPress is ever evolving, and as such, it's good to stay on top of new features. An important thing to know about WordPress is that it builds on itself with each new version, versus replacing itself wholesale with each release. The WordPress Core development team has always worked with an eye toward backward compatibility, sometimes maybe even too much. But generally speaking, WordPress does a great job of making sure that older code in plugins and themes still work with the latest version. That said, you'll want to stay on top of what's coming down the pipeline, both to know how that could impact the code you've written in the past, and to let you know what features you could take advantage of in the future.
